NHL All-Star Game Preview

Posted 26/01/2012 20:43 by Mike 0 comments

More than three dozen of the NHL’s best players will descend on Ottawa Thursday night for the All-Star Draft, and Bovada has all the action covered from the selections to the skills competition to the game itself.

It’s a safe bet to think that Evgeni Malkin will be taken early on, if not first overall, but what about after him? There’s Shea Weber, Claude Giroux, Steven Stamkos, the Sedins. You can build some pretty impressive lines with those players.

Everybody’s favorite question to ask right now is who will be drafted last? Phil Kessel was the victim last year, and with how well he’s played this season, it’s almost certain he’ll avoid a similar fate. The dishonor this year is targeting players like Logan Couture, Jamie Benn, Jordan Eberle, Scott Hartnell and even Jason Pominville, each with 13/2 odds of going last. Who will win the consolation car?

Unfortunately, Alex Ovechkin has pulled out of the game, so retribution won’t be coming Kessel’s way for the pictures Ovi took of the lone Leaf. Oh well, it’s not like he deserved his All-Star selection anyway.

The Draft will be followed by the game itself, featuring the rosters built by Team Alfredsson and Team Chara, and Bovada has all your NHL player props to keep you going all weekend long.
